Dear [Sen. or Rep. name here]:
Who should get the next U.S. jobs? That is the question you in Congress have refused to discuss. Should the federal government continue to add a million new immigrants each year to compete with unemployed Americans? Or should you cut immigration numbers and give jobless Americans priority?
By not discussing this question, you have allowed our immigration policies to automatically make it harder and harder for jobless Americans to start earning paychecks again. I stand on the side of unemployed Americans, although I have no ill will toward those who would like to immigrate here; in fact, foreign-born U.S. citizens are among the 20 million Americans who want a full-time job but can't find one. Make it easier for all Americans to get a job -- please reduce future immigration numbers.
